Designed by John Spencer and opened in 1892, the Strand Arcade was the fifth and last of the arcades built in Victorian Sydney.

Commisioned by Ipoh, the Strand Arcade was shot in the later part of the afternoon when the natural light was at its weakest point.  This allows the lighting of the space to bring warmth and ambience to the images.
